Yahoo Really Wants You To Know It Saved ‘Community’

Yahoo Yahoo wants people to know it takes community service very seriously. Fans of the comedy “Community”, which was cancelled by NBC after five seasons but picked up by Yahoo, were greeted with a new trailer for the show Thursday. But the teaser offers no new footage and is instead more of a not-so-subtle reminder that Yahoo was indeed the show’s rescuer. In an effort to compete with rivals like Amazon and Netflix, Yahoo chief executive Marissa Mayer has made original premium programming a higher priority for the company. Part of that involved ordering new episodes of “Community” which will be streamed on the site. In the trailer, Yahoo is hyping up “Community” with a heavy dose of, well, Yahoo. “We have the capability to make the world’s first bionic show,” a voice-over says. “‘Community’ will be that show. Better than it was before. Better, stronger, faster.” Check out the trailer:
