21st Century Fox’s Murdoch stops chase for Time Warner

Source: www.washingtonpost.com - Tuesday, August 05, 2014 Rupert Murdoch (WILLIAM WEST/AFP/Getty Images) Twenty-First Century Fox on Tuesday withdrew an offer to purchase Time Warner for $80 billion after being rebuffed for its proposed mega-media merger. "Additionally, the reaction in our share price since our proposal was made undervalues our stock and makes the transaction unattractive to Fox shareholders. These factors, coupled with our commitment to be both disciplined in our approach to the combination and focused on delivering value for the Fox shareholders, has led us to withdraw our offer." ... Source: www.dailykos.com - Monday, August 04, 2014When I became old enough that I started talking to girls, the best advice my mother ever gave me is "be yourself." Now that sounds like the sort of trite, fortune cookie saying that is deep and not exactly useful, but it is a truism. Whether searching for a sex partner or crafting a political message, things usually go much easier and you're more successful in the long run if you play to your strengths instead of trying to be something you're not. How often have we seen promising candidates stumble right out of the gate when they actually have to say something because they're too afraid to say what they mean and mean ... Read More »
